Music, Lies & Pictures

You change all the time. Everything changes you. But things that are shit don’t actually change you that much, apart from just getting on your nerves, because you’ve heard it all before. But when it’s something different, it actually will change you. That’s what I’m interested in. That’s the whole point.

I was very casually seeing a girl for maybe 2 months, probably even less. Got this text when I asked “how was your weekend?”

Her: Im super stressed at the moment, my ex is giving my troubles, I cant give you 100% like I thought, I need some time to clear my head blah blah blah

Me: Um, ok, sure, if thats what you really want. But we all have stressful lives, doesnt mean that we can stop having fun together.

Her: Ive made up my mind, I want to be alone.

Me: Ahh ok then. I thought we were having a good time, but if its space you want I can give you that. You know where to find me when your head is clear….

Today I happen to notice Im now blocked on FB, oh look Instagram too, oh and Snapchat….yeah, right, so much for needing space.

Why can’t people just be honest about what is happening?!?!

Quit the bullshit. Be a fucking decent human and stop wasting everyone’s time.

Since 2011, Soulwax have been releasing hour-long audiovisual mixes through Radio Soulwax, a multimedia Internet radio station/app. After promising 24 hour-long mixes, they’ve released 23, and are now ready to reveal the final hour: an astonishing visual mix of As Heard On Radio Soulwax Pt 2, their 2002 mashup classic that was released under the 2ManyDJs name. You can watch it below.

The video matches appropriate visuals with every single track included in the epic As Heard on Radio Soulwax, tweaking them into something funny and clever. So, when Peaches’ “Fuck the Pain Away” collides into Basement Jaxx and Emerson Lake & Palmer, you get Peaches’ crotch from the Teaches of Peaches album cover rapping the lyrics. And then, as “Fuck the Pain Away” turns into the Velvet Underground’s “I’m Waiting for the Man”, VU’s trademark banana emerges from said crotch. Salt-N-Pepa and the Stooges trade album covers, Michael Jackson wears a Residents eyeball on the cover of Thriller, 10cc attack Destiny’s Child, and… well, just watch it.

"12 yrs, 2 months and 24 days later, 114 tracks are re-united in 1 single hour of visual mayhem," Soulwax said in a statement. "As heard on the radio becomes As seen on the this technically Pt III? Probably. Who’s counting? Who cares? Just watch it."
